SingTel First-Quarter Earnings Fall 17% on Currency Strength

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. , Southeast Asia's biggest phone company, posted a 17 percent drop in first-quarter earnings as the strength of the country's currency cut the value of income from its overseas affiliates.
