Shares of Newcastle Investment Corporation were gapping down Thursday morning upon completion of the New Residential Investment Corp spin-off under new NYSE ticker NRZ.

Newcastle Investment Corp. reported that in the first quarter of 2013, income available for common stockholders was $36.6 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, compared to $72.1 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2012.

Newcastle Investment will report earnings before markets open on Friday, May 3rd.
