El Salvador's competition regulator Superintendencia de Competencia has announced that it has approved the acquisition of Telefonica Multiservicios by Millicom International Cellular's Amnet Telecommunications, after having determined that the deal would not significantly affect competition in the market.

American Tower leases cellular tower space to large network operators, primarily Verizon and Sprint and ATT in the United States, as well as Telefonica and Millicom overseas.
