Experian Marketing Services , a provider of data, analytics and marketing technologies, has acquired Conversen .

Maritz Travel , a provider of full-service meeting, event and incentive travel programs to corporate clients has acquired Experient , also a provider of meeting and event services from private equity owners Riverside Company and Veronis Suhler Stevenson .

The volume of marketing and media M&A activity in the first quarter soared to 333 deals, a 51% increase over the year-earlier period, according to investment bank Jordan, Edmiston Group.
