Town residents will lose the 24-hour convenience of a local supermarket and more than 100 employees will be out of work when the Pathmark Super Center on Passaic Avenue closes in March.

The A&P supermarket on southern Main Street that's served as a neighborhood grocery store for downtown residents for decades is closing its doors.

The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company , announced last week that it will close 14 of its stores in four states, according to an A&P press release.
