Inspired by nature: Dell debuts plastic made from air

This fall, computer giant Dell is debuting a new plastics technology that may represent its most innovative sustainable packaging project yet. Used to protect the finish on its notebook computers during shipping, new carbon-neutral plastic bags-constructed from start-up company Newlight Technologies, LLC 's AirCarbona material-are literally made from air.

Cisco expands UCS portfolio with new servers

Cisco has announced a series of products for its Unified Computing System as the company aims to expand its server business in a bid to take on Dell and HP. The San Jose-based company, which has 5.8% of worldwide server sales, said it is expanding the UCS from its core data centre workloads to the edge of the network.
