Nick Rauscher, who waited on customers in his Falls corner grocery store for 60 years, dressed in his trademark white butcher cap and apron, and was active several years in civic affairs, died Friday at the Falls Care Center.

Falls High School senior Kira Wennstrom has been selected as a finalist in the 1987 National Merit Scholarship Program, a distinction that places her in few than half of 1 percent of American high school seniors.
