Two months after the New Orleans City Council voted to retain its longtime chief legal adviser on regulating Entergy New Orleans on a month-to-month basis , the council's Utility Committee on Thursday changed course and recommended extending his contract for one year, with options for four additional one-year renewals.

New Orleans City Council approves deal for new Entergy power plant

The New Orleans City Council agreed Thursday to let Entergy New Orleans buy 20 percent of the electricity produced at a natural gas-fired plant that sister company Entergy Louisiana plans to build at its Ninemile Point station near Westwego.
