Power to nearly 1,100 Brooklyn customers restored

Power to nearly all of the 1,100 Consolidated Edison customers in several Brooklyn neighbhorhoods who lost electricity has been restored.

Con Edison officials say all but about 20 of the customers have service.

Electrical problems had cut electricity.

The utility still is asking customers to cut back on usage until further notice.

Close to 90,000 customers in the Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Borough Park and Park Slope neighborhoods have been asked to stop using all non-essential electrical appliances, including air conditioning.
