Discover completes purchase of Diners Club
Discover Financial Services said Tuesday that it completed its earlier-announced $165 million purchase of Diners Club International from Citigroup.
The Riverwoods-based credit-card concern originally announced its agreement to acquire the venerable but relatively small Diners Club operation back in April.
Diners Club has about $30 billion in annual charges, and is accepted in 185 countries.
Discover said in announcing the deal last month that the purchase will enable much broader international acceptance of Discover cards.
