Colonial Properties Trust announced that it has completed the sale of five wholly-owned apartment communities in two separate transactions for gross proceeds of $81.8 million.

NTS Realty Holdings LP of Louisville, Ky., has bought the Colonial Grand at Shelby Farms apartment complex for $41 million.

As part of its asset recycling program, Colonial Properties Trust is putting 18 multifamily assets with 4,000 units and three shopping centers totaling 700,000 sf on the market.

Colonial Properties Trust is in negotiations to sell its newest regional shopping centers in Fultondale and Tannehill - before the projects are complete.
