IBM buying Netezza for about $1.7 billion
IBM agreed Monday to buy Netezza, a data warehouse company, for $1.7 billion in cash, highlighting how much the fast-growing field of business intelligence is increasingly both a hardware and a software technology.
Teradata adds former SAP exec to board
A former SAP AG executive has joined the board of Teradata Corp. The Miami Township-based data warehousing company announced the appointment of John Schwarz, who has served as chief executive officer of SAP BusinessObjects, a division of SAP .
