Biotechnology giant Invitrogen plans to acquire peer Applied Biosystems for $6.7 billion
Medical research company Invitrogen Corp. said early today that it plans to buy fellow life sciences toolmaker Applied Biosystems Group to $6.7 billion, or $38 a share, in cash and stock.
