Allstate Insurance Co. released a new survey Tuesday indicating that a slight majority of Texas teens have either driven while drinking alcohol or have been a passenger with a teen driver who had been drinking.

Statistics show vechicle crashes is the number-one cause of death for teenagers.

Does Allstate Corp still have you in good hands or is its combination of dampened earnings and exposure to mortgage-backed securities a significant drag on its future? Investors will want to know what Allstate's prospects might be going forward, as the insurers have been part of the battered and maligned financials.

Yet none of these events has proven as devastating to Allstate 's financials as the tsunami that hit the global financial markets over the past year.
