The Road to War Episode 12: Australia in New Guinea

As the nation marches towards commemoration events for the centenary of World War 1, join us each week as we take a look at the events that lead to the out break of the war. A team of historians from the University of New England will take us from the end of European peace and some of the diplomatic manoeuvring behind closed doors, the mass-mobilisation of European armies and what was happening on our home shores.

Drummond and Smith College concerned about heritage, as UNE announces ...

Students from Drummond and Smith College at the University of New England are seeking more information on a proposal to house Robb College students in their residence. The University is making arrangements to accommodate Robb College students in the Drummond and Smith building, when it closes Robb College at the end of Trimester Two this year.

Southern Maine Community College and the University of New England are forming a partnership to allow students to transfer their credits. Leaders from both institutions are gathering Monday to sign 16 transfer agreements ensuring students can transfer seamlessly from Southern Maine Community College programs to programs at the University of New England.

UNE waits for Heritage Listing completion, closes Robb College pending refurbishment

The University of New England will close Robb College at the end of Trimester Two, and delay necessary refurbishments until a process to list the College on the State Heritage Register is complete. Executive Director of Operations Rob Irving said a range of works are needed at the College, and it won't proceed til the Heritage Council of New South Wales considers the possible Heritage Listing.

New program lets Maine students graduate early

Independent Sen. Angus King is praising a new partnership between a Maine high school and the University of New England that will allow some students to complete a bachelor's degree in three years. The program will allow certain graduates of Thornton Academy to be considered sophomores when they enter the UNE's College of Arts and Sciences .
