Black Hole Fan Club kickoff party is Friday

The Black Hole Fan Club is holding its annual kickoff party Friday night and donating a portion of the proceeds to a scholarship fund for a former Raiderette who died a few months ago. Sheryl Pitts, a 41-year-old woman who cheered for the Silver and Black from 1998 to 2002, died in June from a blood clot.

Moraga: Move-in day on the Saint Mary's College campus

Like a human post-it note, Taimane Tuiasosopo , a senior at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, writes dorm room numbers on pieces of tape to be attached to incoming freshmen's personal belongings outside of the college's Augustine Hall on Aug. 28, the first day of the college's annual Weekend of Welcome for new and returning students. Almost 600 freshmen moved onto campus that weekend.

Kilrea could be in line for a new catholic secondary school under new proposals published by the Board on behalf of CCMS. The new school would in effect see the amalgamation of St Mary's College, Clady and St Paul's College Kilrea - on a site to be determined by a feasibility study.

Blade weapons prohibited: A student at Saint Mary's College was in possession of a knife and suspected marijuana at 9:26 a.m. Officers took possession of the items and the case was sent to the district attorney's office for prosecution. grand theft: Someone removed several items from an unoccupied home in the 1000 block of Del Rio Way during the weekend of Aug. 23. The removed items were rented while the home was for sale.
