I think that since the maturing of Manufacturing
outsourcing so-called Globalization, in combina-
tion with the Montreal Ozone depletion protocols of 1987, banning CFC's, followed by U.S. Clean
Air Act Amendments of 1990 restricting Industrial
release of Volatile solvents {VOC's}, and Hazar-
ous Air Pollutants {HAP's} we in the U.S.A,
and abroad have a lost a tremendous number of old-
school chemistry/physical chemistry/chemical engineering working graduates! There was a time when your neighbor could explain/discuss rele-
vant news-worthy technology topics, and put your mind at rest that the sky was not falling,
and when mad-men lost their minds all around you
you kept your head , and passed on relief by word of mouth to others!

What we are seeing now is the opposite of the
'impostor' complex whence in the old days, when
careers/skilled craftsmen jobs were plentiful,
one had to compete however skilled we academically
or vocationally felt; that 'fear of failure' kept
us going, striving to ever greater creative heights!
Now with we have I think the opposite complex!
That of affliation rather than self-esteem, and self-actualization, whence we are vulnerable to
outside gurus who know we no longer have the
counsel of technically oriented friends, relatives and neighbors! So any carbon dioxide
dependent alarmists can bring together a false sense of confidence that we indeed are not scien-
tifically ignorant, and thus the reverse of the questioning 'impostor complex', and that is the
'know it all' mentality whence we NO longer
question Authority!! So 'going green' is a fad
rather than a rational attitude!{?}

The psychology that's involved is complex, one either believes and is fearful, is sceptical and concerned or in denial and unconcerned.

As a sceptic, my concern is that we're being led down the wrong path by those who have been convinced or those who're in it for the money.

Something has happened to the climate that those who promote fear tell us will be catastrophic, which is probably a good way to run a business selling carbon credits and any other product or service involved.
The sheeple will do what they can and pay the price, many never stopping to wonder if it is a scam or not.

One day, sooner or later, the truth will out, whatever the truth really is.
It will either be proven that CO2 is the culprit or that the science is wrong.
If I was a betting man, my money would be on the latter.

yes Frank. People don't want to strangle in their own waste productrs any more. So they invented Environmentalism as a political force.

More to the subject at hand. Dinial is deliberately driven. It didn't just 'happen' due to psychological quirks,

"Educated" people don't want to drown in their own waste products and never have, although in years gone by, humans didn't object to eating their food while sitting near their faeces.
NAPOLEON FAMOUSLY said an army marches on its stomach.
Diarrhea was a major cause of laying up combat troops, until the link to faeces was discovered.

Environmentalism wasn't invented, it was born and matured via education over a long period of time and is a well known historical fact that some of us managed to learn.
It's all part of the ongoing learning curve that will only end when the human race becomes extinct.

Bewildered answer to 'NobodyYouKnow #3" You must have read 'pseudonym avitar' that whenever I mention these two career/skilled craftspeople
1987 panic skin cancer causing scares, and 1997
VOC/HAP discretionary EPA/CARB/SCAQMD {in California, and elsewhere limits I always wrote that these agencies whose budgets are in the
$32 million plus, could have used the enormous yearly equipment, solvent storage operating permits as tax deductible low cost loans to INSTALL volatile/mid-volatile solvent recovery
systems particularly with the 10 to 1 ratio of
metal forming/fabricating subcontractors, and Chemical Specialties formulators to the 1000 plus Fortune/S&P/Nasdaq Industrial Manufacturing/R&D
laboratories in major city/urban areas; including
warehouses that distribute these solvents!!
In once well balanced economies like Califor-
nia, Manufacturing/Agriculture/Serv ice/ Motion
Pictures primary and secondary industries the word was COMPLY, with ever strangling zero to-
lerance solvents emission standards way below mandated Federal EPA standards, OR get out of our State!! And we wonder why California is $38 billions in the red, and 11.5 % unemployement,
with over 25 % underemployement!!
