Firey meteor may have caused reports of plane crash north of Woodland

Geminid meteors photographed in December 2004 over Texas. For about an hour early Saturday evening, Yolo County emergency services personnel were scrambling to find the site of a plane crash near Zamora north of Woodland .

It was likely a meteor from the Taurid Meteor Shower. I caught this bright Taurid fireball meteor last night (Saturday 11/07) at 10:20PM over Western Arkansas.
