I'm gonna' purchase an 18 wheeler, just to drive around, and run EVERY SOB off the road that is on a cell phone.

I understand that this guy was doing something that he was not supposed to be doing, but come on people this is happening everyday, with or without cell phones.

Yes he is a 911 dispatcher. It is really sad what happened. He is not a bad guy.

Whether or not it happens every day, with or without cell phones, it's not something to dismiss lightly. This man took another person's LIFE. He didn't have a valid license, he was driving faster than he should have been, AND he was TEXTING. I, too, would like to get an 18-wheeler and run people off the road for thinking that they can drive, read, and manipulate their fingers to type a message on their cell. If something is that important to take care of, GET OFF THE ROAD and take the time to do it. Give the rest of us who ARE responsible drivers a break. The biggest question in my mind for you is, if he had run down one of your family members, would you still be acting like the circumstances were as routine and as capable of being overlooked?

He made some really poor judgment calls and he's going to have to be accountable for his actions. I hope that he takes a good, hard look at his behavior and realizes how selfish and irresponsible his actions were.

I am almost postive he had a valid license, Driving with out a license means just that...He did not have his license with him. If he did not have a valid license, he would of been charged with driving on a suspended or not valid license. Beside, I heard the victim was known to always walk out infront of traffic. Almost was hit before.

I guess this pales in comparison to the hit and run driver that took my car out on US 83 last night. At least this guy turned himself in

Brian is a fantastic guy and has dedicated his life to emergency services. I know what happened is terrible but before anyone goes bad mouthing him relize that if you called 911 he was calling the shots on the phone and/or riding the fire engine to help those in need. This is truely a sad situation on both sides.
