Kingsland 'Wall of Honor' sends a message
"I am thrilled to have a wall of honor started," said Kingsland Superintendent Darrin Strosahl as he spoke of the tribute wall slated to be installed in the renovated high school and new elementary school.
"The Wall of Honor will send a message about the foundation that public education provides, positive role models for students, and lifelong learning and contributions to the community."
The Kingsland school district will host its re-dedication grand opening and community celebration on Friday, Oct. 3, during Homecoming Week, at which time community-nominated alumnus John Osterud will be posthumously honored for having "attained a high level of achievement" in his "personal and/or professional life, community contributions, and for demonstrating that education is a life-long experience." A plaque in Osterud's honor will be placed on a prominent wall in the new building.

Kelly Davidson wants to veg out in Spring Valley.
She's certain it's good to hang out with the string beans, but her favorite thing to do is pickle.

"I feel a farmer's market belongs in every community. Markets offer a fresh, quality product from locally grown farmers. It's nice to know where your food is coming from, you can save gas, and you can meet the person who is actually doing the growing - markets are a good place for locals to meet and socialize and they bring folks from surrounding communities into town for not only shopping at the market, but to shop other businesses, too."
