"They're being the church," said the Rev. Douglas Hogland, pastor of Woodside Presbyterian Church in Yardley and organizer of the second annual "Living Outside the Box" day of service.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather alert for much of the area, including Delaware County until about 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

The county doesn't usually signal a Code Blue until the temperature drops below 20 degrees.

As the weather turns bitter, Bucks and Montgomery County's Code Blue operations kick into gear to help the homeless find shelter.

A shelter was not ready to accept homeless people Wednesday night, forcing Bucks County officials to recall their Code Blue notice Wednesday afternoon.
