Moved now happy

Lived all of my life in the LA area. Moved far away to Northern California. Now that we have ejoyed life in a city that does not raise some sort of a tax every few hours, and where city officials listen to thoes they represent, has taught us just how far down the standard of living in LA has gone.
Those in power, from the mayor on down, in LA have done only harm to those who call Los Angeles home.

LA is a mess and very few seem to care. Congrates to those who can attend but as others have said, not much will come of this. It's all been stated before, the problems are VERY CLEAR but those in charge are SCARED TO DEATH of a very small, loud group of people. When the mayor has a questionable past, what do you expect ?!?

Our Elected Officials are playing Russian Roulette with the schools, gangs and communities. The Mayor and the City Council are a joke when it comes to taking care of city's business. There is more fraud, corruption and misappropriation of City, State and Federal funds by them because they have complete control of where, when and who gets funded. Now they want to more money in their pockets by all these tax item on the November ballot, wake up and say no more taxes, cut their salary, they are not helping us.

This will be one of the most meaning rally in the city history. Every man, woman, boy and girl should be there. It should be bigger than the immigration rally. We should be thankful to the organizers.

I love the idea of a grassroots movement to take the city back from the corruption in the City Council, the developers, and the public employees' unions. But I sense already from these comments that there are far too many out there who see it just another excuse for race baiting.

Are you sure that maybe you're not just one of those people who look for racial connections in just about everything and thereby become one of the race baiters that you accuse others of being? In looking at these comments, I don't see one reference to race other than yours. If you're deliberately mistaking the crime of illegal immigration and its negative impacts on our society and country as a race issue, you need to give up.

Where is Walter Moore's post? It was here this morning, I wonder why it was deleted. It certainly was on topic. I would attend the rally but I'm working today. I hope the rally is a huge success!!

No doubt sponsored by LA City Employee Unions, the problem with the city is the CITY, the folks running it spend their time planning, demanding more $$ while they widdle away what they have and mismange it as well....kick them all OUT

You're right, I have NO problem with having standards for who we allow into the country. We can't take in all the world's poor, and we need special skills. We have enough problems supporting our own welfare recipients and freeloaders. If immigrants come with assets that boost our economy rather than taking from it, all the better. I also think that they should be disease free and that if they don't follow our laws while their here on a temporarly basis, then they should be immediately deported after paying for their crimes.

Good for the organizers. It's about time and it has to be remembered at the ballot box. I'm for those who are here through legal means though they should be dealt with if they perpetuate fraud and maybe deported if they aren't citizens. We spend enough monies incarcerating our own citizens - we shoudn't be spending money on illegal criminals and legal criminals who came here legally and turned to a life of crime instead of becoming honest citizens. No its not about race. I don't care if you are blue, green, purple or yellow follow the laws of this nation it's as simple as that. Stop government corruption. As for the past skill sets, assets, and what they have to sustain themselves, I believe its Australia that says you have to sustain yourself for a year because you can't work until you've been in the country for one year. We can't support our own seniors and we are not miracle workers and can't support the world's poor--that's up to their own government to provide. You can't tax the citizens to death either. Hey govt folks, those of you making big dollars and not earning your huge salaries (and there are at least a few of you that I am aware of, give up your huge salaries and your perks. When does it end? Cities are not islands so whatever LA does or doesn't do effects surrounding cities like Burbank and Glendale.

Good ! Everything has a beginning ! The People grow weary of the endless corruption, taxes, as everyone observes the desegregation of Los Angeles by the power clicks and its players. " The Whole World is Watching "

one way to "take back" our city is to round up all the gang members and put them in front of a firing squad and keep donig that until either there are no more gang bangers left or people decide being in a gang isn't such a great idea. That's the ONLY thing people like that understand.
