So what were you thinking, oh, say around 11:42 a.m. Tuesday? Yeah, me too. Please, God, not Northridge again.

It was enough to scare the hell out of us--Big one or not--My sister lived in Northridge during the 6-7 one and was displaced for over 2 yrs..God Bless us one and all...

Once again while "Rome was burining" our beloved Mayor Antonio Villar was out of the country in London on vacation with his son. But wait...wasn't he just out of the country (Israel) on vacation last month with his son? How many paid vactions does the mayor get at city taxpayer expense? Since Council President was off playing popeye the salor man as a naval reserve that left poor Wendy Gruel to run the city by herself. What is yesterday had been the big one people??? How did we ever do to deserve such poor city leadership??

This time, it was a moderate one. Thanks God but every one is waiting for the Big One. This is again a strong warning from nature to the civil society and public authorities at all level; therefore it is time to start seriously thinking about appying preventive seismic measures to reduce vulnerability before it is too late. There is a great knowledge to use to protect human lives and properties. It is enough of phylosophy and rheroric. We need action, action and action again.

What a dumb headline.

"Relax - it wasn't The Big One"

Oh that's comforting. I can totally relax now knowing that the Big One is looming in the near future. Thanks, Daily News, for calming my fears. I'm going to take a nap now.

It seems like McCarthy gets a free pass at the Daily News.

The shaking was pretty hard here. It was weird to see a small bottle of water float off the refrigerator across the kitchen and fall onto and into a plastic bag of recyclables. At least it didn't damage the kitchen floor.
