The Town of Fallsburg is amending its guidelines on duplex developments to address builders' concerns about size restrictions and town concerns over the illegal conversion of basements into living spaces.

Formerly of Ellenville, N.Y. Milton Lachterman, a former fifth grade teacher in the Fallsburg School System for 10 years and elementary principal in Ellenville Central School for 25, passed away in Carrollton, Texas on December 7, 2005 of ALS.

A Liberty man was found dead after a one-car crash Sunday in Woodbourne. Fallsburg police said Charles Russell, 40, was found in a car on Murphy Road.

MONTICELLO An inmate in the Woodbourne Correctional Facility was sentenced to three to six years in prison Thursday in Sullivan County Court for having a cell phone and charger in his cell.
