Three people were killed in two separate crashes as a winter storm dumped freezing precipitation and snow across Nebraska.

The National Weather Service in Hastings is reporting record breaking snowfall during the "2009 Holiday Blizzard." According to NWS on Christmas Day a total of 7.8 inches of snow fell at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island.
