Windom trumpeter swan release might not continue
As they were carried down a gently sloping hill in large pet carriers, five trumpeter swans squawked and trumpeted in anticipation of their impending freedom at the Wolf Lake Waterfowl Production Area near Windom.
Some of the first beach bums of the season
These two enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather on Sunday afternoon, checking out the melting ice on Spirit Lake and playing in the sand.
Lightning was the culprit in starting a house fire seven miles west of Wolf Lake on Tuesday, August 2. Wolf Lake Fire Chief Dale Hillukka said it appears the house was hit by lightning around midnight.A The fire smoldered in the attic until about 5 a.m., when it burst into flames.
