Gannett Co. employs more than 41,000 people nationwide in both print and broadcast divisions. These cuts represents a nearly 3% reduction of the current Gannett workforce. Most of the job cuts and layoffs are scheduled to take effect prior to July 9. Pay cuts for remaining employees are also rumored.

Wisconsin voters could cast ballots up to a month before an election under terms of an early-voting plan being considered by state election officials.
