According to unofficial results from Tuesday's Democratic Primary inHertfordCounty, Commissioners Howard J. Hunter III and William F. "Bill" Mitchell will be reelected to their posts.

Included in its latest round of funding, the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center awarded two grants to Hertford County and one to Ahoskie.

On Friday, April 20, a North Carolina Highway Historical Marker will be dedicated in honor of Robert Lee Vann, a publisher, lawyer, businessman and civil rights leader of national reputation.

Robert Lee Vann will be commemorated with aA N.C. Highway Historical Marker on Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m., at the intersection of Academy and First Streets in Ahoskie.
