Aaron Cvengros, a teenager from Winthrop Harbor, is hopeful his entrance into Zion-Benton High School this fall will give fellow students the chance to learn more than just reading, writing and arithmetic.

A memorial with flowers in memory of Philip Smith, 62, of Beach Park could be seen Monday, April 8, at the intersection of Route 173 and Kilbourne Road - west of Zion - in unincorporated Newport Township.
