By JACQUE HILBURN-SIMMONS Staff Writer Five contested races for Smith County positions appear to be ending with the apparent re-election of two incumbents, the ousting of two others and two runoffs.

Because there are no general election challengers in the eight races, including state House District 6, Smith County sheriff, Precinct 3 county commissioner and four constable races, these primary races will decide who ultimately will fill these positions.

Tyler City Council District 2 voters will go to one of two locations, based on precinct listed on voter registration card: Precinct 11, Tyler City Hall, 212 N. Bonner Ave.; Precincts 35, 36, 44, 72 and 74, Tyler Independent School District Administration Building, 1319 New Sunnybrook Ave.
