I prefer cats. You don't have to walk them they don't chew on your shoes or try to dig through the floor or wall, they don't bark(do neighbors call the police on a cat meowing?)They normally don't attack people. They don't jump up on people(at least most of them). They don't try to stick their tongue in your mouth. Cats are a lot quieter you almost forget they are around unless they need fed.

I'd like to see a cat attack an intruder coming into your house.
When was the last time you heard of a burgular being scared off by a cat?
Dogs rule!!
Plus dogs don't hack up hair balls.. EWWWW!!
Dogs do require a lot of attention. I guess if you want a maintenance free pet, get a cat or a fish.

Well. I think I shall compose and send this without tons of second thoughts or revisions as well. I think too much.
First of all, I don't know how you tell a spouse "Hey, I just looked up my old lover and had a nice chat". I hope this doesn't mess anything up for you.
Hopefully you didn't look so faint when you got home that night as you did to your law clerk!
Now, for more of my thoughts. You asked me why I actually ended it and left Akron.
Short answer: I was an idiot.
For more details (and if you don't really have anything to do for the next hour)read on.
Life is full of decisions. Most of mine have been made from the
logical/practical/rational side of my brain. Not all have been made for the right reasons. For example: I gave up my virginity for purely logical reasons.
I was on the pill for a gynecological problem my senior year at Kent. I had met a nice, safe guy. I had only 1 week left on the pill.(I am sure I was the only virgin at Kent State on the pill!) I truly thought no one else might ever want to have sex with me (remember, I was a 21 year old kid without much self esteem) and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about (sex - an early entry on
my Bucket List of something to do before I die.) So, as you see, my twisted brain led me to that action for not the best of reasons.
Other life decisions worked out better. I left a boring ICU position at my Marietta hospital and decided to transfer and try OB to work in a happy place for once. But before I started that job, they decided I would have to work full time rather than the posted part time job I had taken. My son was a baby and I
didn't want to work that much and ER had a part time opening so I transferred there. Again, lots of logic, and weighing of facts. That was a good decision and lucky roll of the dice. ER is my niche. I get bored easily and it has kept my interest for over 20 years. Always busy (I'm still a bit high energy) and interesting.
Then there was us. While I was still at Kent dating you, you early on starting saying "I love you". I had decided in my rational brain that I did NOT want to love you. You were too different from me - I saw you as a dark and mysterious person with a much different background. You pursued me to Cleveland. I still
did not want you to be "the one". I did not choose to fall in love with you-but I couldn't fight it. My logical, rational brain failed. My heart took over. Why did I let that all go? My feelings for you were so intense that I was frightened. I thought if you didn't really have those same feelings (though YOU CERTAINLY DID PROFESS THEM TO ME - I just couldn't believe it) that I would
simply cease to survive if it ended. I thought if you did really have those same feelings, that it would be best for you (if I really loved you) to let you go. I felt somewhat jealous of anything outside of us. I was afraid I would smother you and us. I was afraid you would resent it. And it would end anyway. I saw no other conclusion than it would end eventually. When I got to Columbus and you called, I wrote you a letter saying I wasn't sure
if it was you that I loved or the feelings of being in love. I needed to get out there and see. It was you.
I met Denny in 1983. I had dated some others for a date or 2 here and there. I DECIDED to love Denny. I wanted to be married, have someone to do things with, to have children. We've had a good, stable life. While I recall many heated arguments between you and me, Denny and I have really never had one. I just wish my heart would fibrillate when I hear his voice as it does each time I hear
yours.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aquarius

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
