I am very close to the victim's wife and I do know for a fact that the victim was NOT a gang member. This is another sensless crime and I am so tired of innocent people losing their lives. It does not matter what race you are!!!!!!!!!!

My condolences goes out to the victim's family and friends.....

I live on East O St. & Watson, this was my neighbor. It's a very unfortunate incident for his family. Not everyone in Wilmington is a gang banger. He was actually getting ready to leave with his wife and his child and this person walked up, shot into his car, and fled. I've been living in this neighborhood for over a year now. It's been pretty quiet and overall I have nice neighbors. It's very unfortunate that there are heartless people in this world. He was unarmed, minding his own business... and someone else decided it was his time to go... Only God can judge. His family does not need all these ignorant comments posted regarding their loved one. You should gather your facts before posting a comment on something you are assuming.

To all the ignorant comments being made, reread the article, the police suspect that it's gang related, it has NOT been confirmed. How would you like it if one of your friends or relatives was shot down in the streets like this person was, and the news/police, falsly accused them of being a suspected gang member.

If the A-HOLE that did the shooting was a gang member, and I would bet my sack on it that he was, THAT makes it gang-related. Not both individuals have to be in a gang to make it so. If this was an innocent man, And I will believe he was until proven otherwise, its a damn shame. The people of these neihborhoods KNOW who these hoods are, but are usually related to them some-how, thats why they put up with this crap. If this happened to anyone in my family, there would be nothing but a smoking hole left for a 100 yards in either direction of where the person lived that was responsible. Guarenteed...

Bottom line someone lost their life...a mother/father lost a son...a child may have lost their father...a wife lost her husband. All the killing really is senseless.

Hey Bell Bell it says your from Oakland another gang capitol how do you know what it's like down here, well I work in Wilmington I see the scum of the earth everyday here. Yes, I live in a "better" area and I don't care about your "street knowledge" most of us out here know how it should be, I'm glad I can walk in my neighborhood after dark and not be afraid. All street knoledge is is a cop out as to it's always been this way and always will be and we'll maintain it, not wanting to live like civil humans. So just keep being a terrorist keep your neighbors awake at night worring about their kids cowards all of you.

Yeah sure you have those F***** gang members who think there the s*** and should be in jail. but in other reasons this is a great city to live in. and this man was in a wrong place at the wrong time. hes not even gang related for the A** who said "thank god another gang member has been killed"
