RETAIL THEFT: Gayle Marie Carter, 48, of 201 Edgewood Ave., St. Thomas, was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing $138.52 worth of merchandise from CVS Pharmacy, 125 W. Washington St., according to Chambersburg Police.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, Tracey E. Traux, 48, Willow Hill was trying to make a left turn onto Pigeon Hill Road when she was rear-ended by Todd J. Best, 27, Fort Loudon.

Two companies were found not liable for the alleged destruction of berry bushes in Metal Township following a four-day trial in Franklin County Civil Court.

A Joyce Szayna, the reading specialist at Willow Hill Elementary School , picked up the microphone to the school's PA system at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday in the school's office.

Two Metal Township families are suing two corporations, claiming that more than 10 acres of berry bushes worth nearly $1 million were wrongfully destroyed by an herbicide spray.
