1. Haddonfield (9-0, 2007 record; 1, 2007 final ranking): The Bulldawgs have all of their key runners back from last year, led by juniors Marielle Hall and Becky Barber, sophomore Mia Spinelli, and seniors in twins Jackie and Lizzy Sikemma and Monica Ramstad. 2. Williamstown (5-1; 7): The Braves have some depth this year to go with a legitimate No. 1 runner in senior Maria Ruiz. 3. Seneca (2-3; 11): The Golden Eagles have plenty of depth back from last year, but they also have a key top runner now that Nicole McGrainer, a top 2-miler during track season, is out for the team. 4. Millville (9-0; 6): The Thunderbolts have senior Lindsay Bertulis back as she has had an excellent summer of training to go with twins Brooke and Britney Kott. 5. Kingsway (7-0; 9); The Dragons return the South Jersey Runner of the Year in junior Chelsea Ley and also have added a key newcomer in junior Liz Locke, who was a quality performer during the last two track seasons, to go with senior Meghan Gauntt, who is coming off of a good summer of training. 6. Paul VI (5-0; 5): The Eagles have plenty of good depth, that's never a problem for this team, but they still lack at true No. 1 runner, one who can go out and win in big meets. 7. Cherry Hill East (5-1; 3): Senior Missy Showers is one of the top runners in South Jersey and the Cougars still have depth with senior Jackie Gobel and sophomore Colleen Thompson. 8. Timber Creek (5-0; 10): The Chargers have a legitimate No. 1 runner in Megan Arnold and also have some good depth with Brooke Dovell, Amanda Kerno and Megan Short. 9. Lenape (7-0; 2): The Indians lost some key people from last year, but they do return junior Caitlin Orr, one of the toughest runners in South Jersey who had an outstanding outdoor track season. 10. Eastern (2-3; 12): The Vikings have two quality performers in Barrie Cohen and Alexandra Davis. If they can find some depth, they could move up in the rankings this year. 11. Bishop Eustace (4-1; 20): The Crusaders return most of their top people, including senior Colleen Neely, who was injured most of last year and junior Kelly Malloy. They also have some depth. 12. Ocean City (8-1; 16): The Red Raiders have plenty of depth again led by seniors Anna Cenicola, Erin Hill and Hillary Morris, but they still need a legitimate No. 1 runner. 13. Moorestown (12-0; 13): The Quakers lost a top runner in the graduation of Brianna Rogers, but they do have some key people back in senior Kate Levinson and junior Emily Thompson. 14. Delsea (6-2; 19): The Crusaders return a key performer in sophomore Felicia O'Donnell who improved as the season went on last year. They also have plenty of depth, which will make them a factor in the Tri-County Conference again. 15. Shawnee (1-4; 14): The Renegades have a legitimate No. 1 runner in sophomore Casey Doyle and sophomore Marina Mestres came on late in the season last year, too. 16. Our Lady of Mercy Academy (9-0; 14): The Villagers lost top runner Jena Peacock to graduation, but they still have plenty of good runners back, led by Erin Mulvenna and Melanie Wiechecki. 17. Wildwood Catholic (5-2; NR): Chrissy Casiello and Tara Wuko were each first-team All-Non-Public last year and give these Crusaders a legitimate 1-2 punch. 18. Haddon Twp. (6-1; 15): The Hawks return top sophomore Holly Gallagher, but did lose a lot of experience to graduation. Still, they should have enough depth to be a quality team again. 19. Clearview (5-3; 19): The Pioneers return a lot of experience and have a good No. 1 runner in Cassie Lenkowski, who improved as the season went on last year. 20. Washington Twp. (1-4; NR): The Minutemaids have a lot of experience back and could have their best team in a while. Their biggest problem is that they run in the tough Olympic Conference American Division and in Group 4 at sectionals. The Top 20 is selected by staff writer Jeff Wolfe. The first regular-season rankings will be Monday, Sept. 22. Reach Jeff Wolfe at (856) 486-2424 or jwolfe@courierpostonline.com or cpsports@courierpostonline.com
