8 rare sheep die
About a fifth of Colonial Williamsburg's flock of rare Leicester Longwool sheep have died from eating a toxic plant apparently fed to them by an unwitting tourist.

To prevent this happening again, why don't authorities remove the poisonous tree?

They did go around and cut down all of those trees immediately after. It's just hard with so many species of plants to keep everything harmful out of the way. Some trees found all over the South East are poisonous to people as well, but very popular (ex. the long bean trees).
