no but they do have a suspect and are waiting on the judge to sign the warrant heard they will p/u tonight or in the morning

If you read the news journal story above, it states that it is probable that the gunshot wound was self inflicted (meaning he shot himself) but they cannot interview him giving his medical conditions (he is still alive though) and are only basing this on what witnesses from the scene provided.

Lets keep this man & his family in our prayers. If it was self inflicted, he must've been in a bad situation in his life and was probably severly depressed. Poor guy will be in my prayers along with his family. I hope he achieves a full recovery.

tHEY SHOULD DO A CHECK ON HIS GUN TO SEE IF IT WAS FIRED & ALSO SHOULD HAVE DONE A RESIDUE CHECK ON HIS HANDS TO SEE IF HE REALLY FIRED THE GUN. I THINK HE IS COVERING FOR SOMEONE.

The victim of an unexplained shooting last Tuesday near Cumberland Falls has been identified, and local authorities are now say he pulled the trigger himself.

According to Whitley County Sheriff Lawrence Hodge, Jason Lovitt, 31, of Corbin, suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound last Tuesday. He was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of his wounds shortly after the incident. Lovitt is still alive.

Whtiley County Sheriff's Detective Chuck Davis, who is officially investigating the case, said there is no suspect yet and that he has not been able to interview Lovitt because of his medical situation.

"All we know is what a few people told us that stopped to render aid to the shooting victim," he added.

Davis did tell the News Journal that the shooting took place at 493 Hwy. 90, which is close to Bill's Riding Stables just past the Cumberland Falls Junction and the victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The caliber of the pistol is unknown at this time. The victim was flown from a landing zone at the Corbin Speedway to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

any one who believes this guy done that to hisself is a fool. I dont believe he did where is the powder residue tests? The police cant do anything as long as he is saying he did it to himself. im guessing that guy is scared to death of someone.
