Historic metal shed in Uptown Whittier torn down

Some history came tumbling down Tuesday when workers demolished a historic shed behind Havana House that possibly dated back to the 1930s.

What a joke !!!
Whittier is losing one business after another...flooded with juvenile deliquents tagging...and tearing down a metal shed is news.
I find it more unbelievable that someone would consider this eyesore to be historic.

I agree. What is more important? I think the squatters and gutter punks should be torn down.

I think the city should focus more on the taggers and gang activity rather than worry about what city hall calls an eyesore...about 15 years ago I really felt hurt deep inside when I was driving back to La Mirada from San Diego and I saw either tagged up freeway signs or barbed wire around the base of the poles...what a freaking shame!

sirrera verde is one of the oldest buildings of uptown whittier and city hall is paying more attention of the histery buildings and they are not paying attention to profanitty, or drugs. Severl places are selling licer to miners or even to adults afeter they get out of the bars and get on there cars and drive.
