The 2008 Vermont Crime Report, released Thursday, reported that property crime saw a 4 percent rise from 2007 to 2008 with an 11 percent increase in burglaries and a 10 percent increase in theft.

Vermont broadens wine, spirits tastings, sales
Vermont winemakers and distillers got good news Tuesday when Gov. Jim Douglas signed a bill allowing them to sell more products on-site. Previously, wineries could offer tastings or sell bottles of wine.
