Is paying to shop at Costco really worth it?

It seems everybody has a key product they go to Costco for, be it baby wipes, cheap booze or groceries by the van load. via Pasadena Star-News

The article does not mention the gas station that on the average can save anywhere from 7 to 20 cents a gallon. In Fresno recently the saving was 25 cents a gallon and that really helps.
The last paragraph mentions the best way to save and that is to just graze and don't load up a cart with stuff you don't need.

This article also does not state the fact that Costco offers higher quality products versus the competition. Coscto demands quality and value. Local supermarkets don't!
