Westfield Quilters' Guild to hold quilt show June 1-3

The Chautauqua Vegetarian-Vegan Society will hold two monthly meetings in May, on Monday, May 28 in Jamestown and on Wednesday, May 30 in Westfield.

Local school districts held their breaths on Tuesday night, May 15, as the public voted on budget proposals, propositions and members to Boards of Education.
Serious budget cuts are now necessary, and in the longer term the Westfield Academy and Central School cannot continue to operate as an independent school district without risking financial catastrophe.

At 11:34 p.m., Westfield police responded to a report of an unwanted male at 127 Bourne St., Lot 1. According to the complaintant, 44-year-old Velmon J. Boyd, of the same address, barricaded himself in a bedroom and had been smoking crack cocaine all day.
