Lady Hillbillies keep on rolling with win

Andrea Smith charted 20 assists and Makenzie Tarnowski chipped in eight kills and two blocks as Fredonia topped Maple Grove 25-13, 25-11, 25-20 in CCAA West girls volleyball action on Tuesday. Also for the Lady Hillbillies, Emily Ludwig had nine kills while Tianna Williams and Casey Williams chipped in eight kills in the win.

Indictments handed out in Westfield homicide

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Friday that a federal grand jury has indicted Jonathan Conklin, 43, and Charles Sanford, 30, on charges of carjacking, use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and felon in possession of a firearm. The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, a maximum sentence of life, and a fine of $250,000.
