Well, they could start by patrolling and plowing the blocks that are half city and half WY. We are ALWAYS forgotten!! Unless there is a specific call made into the police, there is no presence.

Well, tell me more so I know who not to vote for. Right now I am leaning toward Gibbs for mayor, and Metzler, Wilson, and Shue for council. Am I on the right track? I will probably write in Shawn Mauck, because he seemed to do the most for West York so far. Any other suggestions are welcome. I liked the way West York was moving forward, and would hate to see us go backwards again.

Wilson seems like he is doing well. Metzler is running on both republican and democrate so she picks up votes no matter what. Isn't she the one who wanted the dog park!!! Shue can't answer without Mauck's input and he is nothing but a quitter.

Metzler we know we can count on, she's been there for a while. Gibbs is a good choice he was on council before and did a great job. Shue has done well so far, despite what people say about her. She is involved in the community. Wilson seems to be trying to continue in the same good direction, but hear different things about him too. Mauck's time is over, why would you want a quitter on your side. I think we need to try some new people too. Anybody know anything about any of the other candidates? Who's this Scott Green guy? I know I am done with the republicans.

I think Wilson is doing well too. I am impressed with Metzler and Shue as well, for all the time they put into the community projects. Some of the other elected officials, and paid employees have never been to the town meetings, block watch events, or any of the community events. That's why I am leaning toward these canidates. I don't know much about the others because I haven't seen or heard much from them. I do feel safer than before thanks to this council.

Who cares about this little dump of a borough? Abolish it and make it part of the city. Why would a council member brag about people being afraid of the police? Are they Nazis? Is that what we want? Shame on you!

Well I will tell you who is NOT getting my vote!! FIRESTONE! I mean what kind of a imbecile wants to be voted in for the Mayor but refuses to answer or respond to the YDR's request for their vision, plans and/or ideas for that position????

I am not impressed in the least!!

Gibbs has got my vote, he may not be right, but at least he took five minutes out of his life to respond to the YDR!!!

And we all can imagine, that if one is going to serve as mayor of this town, they may have to take A LOT of time out to answer questions!!!

Maybe you should tell that to all those that previously elected Sam Firestone last election!! I mean there is a man that embezzled money from his church!!

Not too mention all the parking problems he has caused with his 12-15 cars he has parked in front of other peoples house all across the boro!!

Its a good thing he don;t have one of his junk heaps parked in front of my crib!!!

How many cars does a person need??????

Well, I hardly think you can call the boro police a bunch of Nazis! I mean with all the recent equal opportunity hires they have been making lately!! Whatever happened to qualifications and educational standards? and don't get me started on that bitter little troll of a sargent either!!! What an idiot, who thinks he is somebody. I mean is it legal for someone to drive a car sitting on a booster seat from MacDonalds???? Let alone a police car???? Something tells me, that if I was a midget and was pulling that trick I would be getting a fine!!! I bet Roser and Sgt. Laird are rolling over in their graves!!!

If you are interested in getting Mr. Mauck back and don't put him under any pressure and let him spend without approval also have his mess cleaned up from the last time . Then you need to vote for Metzler and Shue The Boroughs leading ladies . Leading you to a brand new Dog park , Higher taxes , Trashing our police force. Watch out West York there bringing the idiot back. Any other questions you can ask Mauck himself , he can be reached at the corner of Woodberry and Indain Rock Dam roads I hear thats where he "HANGS" out.
Its a shame

Well the bashing has started again. But really some have brought this on themselves. November 3rd West York can start with a new vision and I hope the people do not lose sight of that.

Also the people should remember the Dog Park incident, how ms metzler tried to push this down everyones throats. So residents remember that!!

Shawn Mauck I hope is doing fine with his life and I have heard he has moved on. So Shawn please stay away from this because we will take care of those who have tried to hurt the borough the most:
Firestones
Hermans
Louthian
And Ms Metzler who is running on both sides of the ticket, is she an r or a d not sure nor do I care. Hope you will stay as the dog catcher after you are voted out!!

Till november 3rd

Here's what I don't understand about West York. Instead of bashing people, why not go out and vote for the canidates that you feel will best serve. Then people want to attack our services and personnel as well, makes no sense to me. Sounds like some have personal beefs with individuals, and use these blogs just to be mean.

I agree with this person. Why bash someone while you can be addressing the issues that are important to our town? As for the comments made by Louthian - not sure what borough he is talking about but I see our police everywhere!! I seem them out patrolling, walking and i have seen them on bikes! In fact this is the only area that I ever see the police every day! And I work in Baltimore! As far the plowing, well I have seen the beat-up junk this town uses to clear our streets, I mean is this junk from the 60's or what?? The fire department is always available too!! My buddy volunteers at W. Manchester and they have problems getting volunteers to even respond, but he says WY fire always responds and beats their equipment most of the time to their (township) fire scenes!!

So it sounds like things are starting to get better around here, and unfortunately you have to spend money to make money and to make the town better! But if these people that are running in this election want my vote, I better start hearing about how they are going to continue to fix things and replace these junky plow trucks!! Ad for pete's sake, if you all want to bring business into this town, how about revamping and cleaning that pathetic boro hall!!!! If I owned a business and took one step into that shed they call an office building, I would think twice about relocating my business!!

How is it that the woman in the borough office can break the law by sitting there and smoking with the police department 10 feet away from her?

OMG r u sick or what. Those two girls who work in that office are the finest people you will ever meet. Go sit in a chair in the corner and suck your thumb you big baby. The bigger concern is the Ladies of the council that are running not the ones in the office.

I plan on voting on Tuesday and hope that everyone that is able to vote will also vote on that day. One of my concerns is the Mayor. I believe that WY needs a Mayor that respects the citizens of WY and I believe that Mr. Gibbs is the person for that position. Mr. Firestone has not shown respect for most of the people in the Fire Company/Police Dept and the members of the council. We need a Mayor that wants to make WY a better place to live and a Mayor that doesn't sit in the Council meetings tapping his foot and fingers, raising his eyebrows and muttering under his breath. Another concern I have is Brian Wilson. I believe that we need someone on Council that does not speak out of both sides of his mouth. On many occasions I have witnessed him siding with one person and then siding with another person with the opposite position. We need people on Council that are not wishy-washy and can stand on their own positions not whatever is good at that particular moment. Think before you vote on November 3. Think about the Borough that you live in and vote for the people that look into the Borough's future and want to make it better for us all. I am so glad that Tim Hunter is out of Council - what a JOKE he was.

One question to all Shelly Metzler is on both sides of the ticket! Sounds to me like she can't win as a republican via the DOG PARK issue. So why vote for her?

So my fellow republicans do not vote for Shelly and to the dems do not vote for her either.

Brian and Dawn might have issues to but at least you know where they are coming from. Shane Louthian might be crazy and waffle alot but well he at least might have ideas. Don and Scott well nice guys too but do not know alot about them.

Gibbs needs to win, get my fellow republican Sam the hell out of their. Steve Herman needs to go home and spend more time with his wife instead of drinking all the time.

O by the way Shelly were is my tshirt i gave you $20 bucks 2 months ago and nothing!

Goodbye Shelly!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aquarius

Money is a source of friction between you and friends now, so treat it with caution and respect. There could be a disagreement between you and a chum about a possession or a debt that one of you owes the other. If you're trying to organize a forthcoming social event, you could come unstuck when working out how much it's all going to cost because it might be far too expensive.
