Full story: The York Daily Record

State lawmakers have ended the budget crisis. For now, at least. Next year's budget will probably be even more difficult to resolve.

Just brand the pensions as "stimulus". Voila, problem solved. Financially speaking, it really is pretty much the same thing in how it will effect people in the future. I think this editorial board has written generally postive things about the "stimulus". Just think of it that way and you'll feel much better. Then there will be no more grousing from you either, unfocused or otherwise.

The market has gone up about 40% since hitting its low. The pension funds should be recovering.

How many workers in private industry get colas with their
pensions? I know of none. When are colas going to be
removed from government pensions? That would be a first, and significant step in solving the budget crisis.

State workers with 35 years in, regardless of age, can retire on roughly the same take home pay as wehn they were working. No othe job gives that kind of benefit, and it's paid for by those with far less benefits - the private sector taxpayers.

Lets not forget the 135 million of pension fund that were lost while investing in an overseas company... Why no news on that? And why is the state lawmakers investing pension money in oversea companys? Oh because the Goverment knows best.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
