Peoria County's new elder care facility is one step closer to being complete. City and county leaders gathered at the West Peoria site for a Topping Out ceremony Friday afternoon.

That was part of the message during the first state of the county address earlier today at the Ivy Club in Peoria Heights.

A Peoria man was indicted Tuesday in connection with a stabbing in West Peoria earlier this month.

WEST PEORIA, Ill. -- It's officially been one year since a West Peoria grocery store burned to the ground but after months of planning and hard labor, the store is now back on its feet.
