That's going to be hard on the kids. What were they thinking getting the dogs if they knew they were splitting up and they'd have to be returned to the breeder at some point? Foster dogs but not forever dogs. How sad.

I agree. That's really sad. Maybe the next people that have those dogs will have more time to devote to them. Fingers crossed!

I hope that the dogs get a good home. Seeing the kids hitting those dogs was very sad. Kids that age need to be taught to respect dogs. It's very obvious that the Gosselin children were never taught that hitting a dog is a bad thing to do.

If I'm not wrong, I think Kate is the one that called the dogs her dogs when they went to get them, she named them, now doesn't want to take care of them, let the body guard do it.

Yes the kids will be heart broken. I never saw them abuse the dogs.

Kate didn't want the dogs to begin with but Jon insisted they get them.

Then Kate sure put an act on when they went to get them and she told the kids that they were getting not one but two dogs and that she had named them. This whole thing with both of them is getting out of hand, they seem not to care to air everything so people will notice them more.

It is very sad for all when a divorce happens.

If Jon lived in the area and had a HOUSE he could take the dogs himself...Bt he wants to live in N.Y.C.
But he would rather blame Kate for everything.
Thats what a 5 yr old does always blames everyone else.

I agree he is acting very childish right now. They need to think of the kids first.

Usually when you have animals your attached to them as much as you are to your kids, so what does that go to show!!! There show should be cancelled!!!! It's not even real anymore it's all about which parent is doing the most interesting entertaniment with the kids on there parenting time.

Apparently, Shoka was the only dog remaining when they filmed the show which aired Monday night. The children didn't seem to react to Nala being gone.

It seemed as though the dogs were Kate's idea to be given as a present to the kids for Christmas, although the majority of the eight weren't at all pleased with the idea. Kate picked out the dogs she wanted and afterwards she named them. The kids didn't have a lot to do with it. Some of them were even afraid of them (I don't think I would want to be afraid of my Christmas present).

To my knowledge the kids never abused the dogs, at least not on television. Eventually, they did become responsible for feeding them and cleaning up after them inside. Jon was responsible for cleaning up outdoors. There appears to be someone missing in the work equation. Oh yeah, it's the person whose idea it was to buy the dogs in the first place -- Kate.

I would have thought Jon would have kept the dogs, but apparently it was his idea to give them away. He doesn't have time for them.

Lisren, it does not matter who's original idea it was to get the dogs. They have to deal with what is going on now and the sad fact is that neither one of them have the time or energy for the dogs. At least they are doing the responsible thing in giving them back to the breeder where they will be cared for properly and eventually found a forever home. If they took them to a shelter, Lord knows what would have happened to them. The sad thing in all of this is that jon is yet again publically blaming kate. He still does not get it. They both had to have made that decision. She did not do it behind his back. He loaded them in the crates for goodness sake. He is just going to make it his lifes passion to make her life a living hell. THAT is the true sadness of the whole thing.

I commented on this on the other thread before I saw this spot for it so am reposting my comment over here. I guess Kate can't be bothered to care for the dogs when Jon is gone and Jon lives in an apt. and can't take them with him when it's his turn to leave. First some family members had to go like Kevin and Jodi and their cousins, as well as other’s the children were close to, now the dogs have to go. These Gosselin kids are learning not to become attached to anyone or anything for it might be taken away. Sad and since Kate has used the pups in the past as some kind of currency that can be taken away with any sign of disobedience from the kids, I'm just wondering if the kids think they did something wrong now that Kate has given them back to the breeder. I know it says Jon took them back but I'm sure it was Kate's idea, she never had an attachment to the dogs so no big deal to her. I personally thought it was a bad idea to get the pups in the first place and irresponsible especially since they both knew the marriage was in trouble before then. Kate has shown her cold heart over and over again, what she says goes, she couldn’t even let the kids name the dogs for fear that they would pick out silly names. Duh Kate, I would have thought since you tried to sell the world that you are some kind of supermom with so much advice and knowledge to share with other mothers that you would have at least thought of coming up with a list of several names for the pups and then letting the kids pick from that list but NO you had to have it your way once again thus showing how ignorant and coldhearted you truly are. Anyway, giving the dogs back has to have broken the kid's hearts, poor babies! The dogs are better off imo, but my heart goes out to the little ones.

If you listen to the breeder's interview, he said he is only keeping them temporarily and makes it sound like Jon will come for them again when he can. I think she decided they had to go because she didn't want to deal with them.

I thought they were for protection for the kids, as well as pets. The dogs were always photographed with the kids in the yard, although mostly when Kate was not around.

Who will watch the kids now? Kate has Steve to keep her "safe", but I'd be more worried about freaks tracking down the kids after seeing them on tv.

P.S. Never understood why Kate needs that bodyguard all the time. Who cares enough about her to approach her?

The responsible thing would have been not to have bought the dogs in the first place. As we now know, at the very time they purchased the dogs, they were aware of the course their lives were taking. You just plain do not purchase dogs as a "Christmas Present" for 6-five year olds and 2-8 years olds to raise. They simply don't have the knowledge or the ability to do so.--JMO

Jon could have kept the dogs but he prefers his girlfriend over his kids happiness.

I agree. And I remember in that visit when they first got the dogs that Kate wasn't happy about it. Jon was really the one that wanted them. But It is good they are going back to the breeder who can care for them.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Capricorn

This is a marvellous day for having a discreet word in someone's ear. You'll be able to choose your words carefully, making you very tactful and considerate, and as a result you will have a helpful conversation. This is also a good opportunity to talk about topics that are very dear to your heart, or which are usually too private to mention.
