Maine DOT to repave stretches of Route 1 in York, Kittery

In preparation to the Maine Department of Transportation planned paving of Route 1 from Spur Road to the Ogunquit town line starting Monday, June 11, the state is doing preliminary work replacing some culverts and pipes on the state road.

The York Police Department is losing a $200,000 contract to provide emergency dispatch services for Ogunquit, a move that could potentially mean layoffs in York's dispatch center, according to Police Chief Doug Bracy.
