Volunteers needed to help with flu vaccinations

SILVER SPRINGS--The first-ever large-scale point-of-dispersing clinic in Lyon County will be held this Saturday at Silver Stage Middle School's gym from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Lyon County officials along with Carson City Health and Human Services will hold a free seasonal flu vaccination on that day for the first 1,500 people.

FERNLEY--Following a presentation from a Nevada Department of Taxation representative concerning discussion on room tax assessments, Fernley City Council members learned they could redirect room tax fees that are generated in Fernley, which are currently going to Lyon County, back to the City of Fernley through an ordinance.
