H.L. Guess, of Weinert, visited his great-granddaughter, Braelyn Water, and her pre-K classmates at Munday Elementary.

Dale Lee Schwartz, age 75, passed away on December 1, 2009 in Lubbock, TX. Dale was a lifetime educator who impacted the lives of thousands of students.

There was good news and not-so-good news for local school districts on Friday. The Texas Education Agency released its annual accountability ratings, which gave Marion ISD an overall rating of Academically Unacceptable, Navarro ISD a rating of Academically Acceptable and Seguin ISD a rating of Recognized.

Joseph Luther Toliver, Jr., 85, of Haskell passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009. Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church in Haskell with Brother Morris Johnson and Brother Troy Culpepper officiating.
