Commuter Update | Sharif Durhams: Ticketed driver feels like a victim

An early warning to motorists about traffic conditions.
So, we thought we were doing a good thing.
Several weeks ago, a commuter wrote to say she noticed that there was a 55 mph speed-limit sign on Pitts School Road for drivers heading from Weddington Road to Poplar Tent Road, but no sign in the other direction.
I asked the N.C. Department of Transportation about it, and crews installed new signs making it clear that drivers should reduce to 45 mph along the stretch and to 35 mph in some spots. Read more
