The Weaverville Joss House, the longest continuously used Chinese temple in the United States, was spared from an impending closure by the California State Parks system thanks to an agreement reached this week between the temple's association and the state.

Two state parks in Shasta and Trinity counties won't be closing this year after all, providing freshly inked agreements win approval in Sacramento.
