Hazleton Public Transit will fill fund void
Hazleton Public Transit will draw from a $550,000 capital improvements account to ensure the agency gets grant money from the state after Luzerne County Council abruptly decided to cut local match funds, Hazleton's transit director said.
Aggressive driving being targeted
Carbon County Aggressive Driving Departments will be joining police to conduct targeted Joint Aggressive Driving Enforcement during the second wave, which began on July 7 and will continue until Aug. 31. Departments include Weatherly, Beaver Meadows, Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, Lehighton, Franklin Township, Kidder Township and Mahoning Township.
